Want some Weight Loss Motivational Quotes? Read this article then scroll to the bottom of the page! Would you like to take a guess on what is the number one health threat to Americans is right now? Cancer? Heart Disease? Diabetes? No…

The #1 health threat to the United States according to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) is being overweight! Why? Because being overweight leads to increased risk of all of these diseases. It also increases the risk of arthritis, hormone imbalance and reduced sex drive among many others.

Right now in the United States, 70% of the population is either overweight or obese. It is a pandemic that is killing far too many people, because it is 99.9% preventable and correctable.

The one “big Idea” you must get to fix this problem is that when a person becomes overweight they are actually addicted to food and must be treated that way… as an addict. The thing that makes this so hard to treat is that you can’t avoid food all together as you can treat a cocaine, alcohol, or tobacco addict.

In my clinic we like to find out exactly what caused the person to become addicted to food as well as the behavior of overeating. Many people become addicted because of food allergies, social norms inside their families related to food, blood sugar swings associated with a pre-diabetic condition known as Syndrome X and many other problems that eventually lead to being overweight and addicted to food. That is why you need the mental exercise of using motivational quotes for weight loss on a regular basis.

There are some general changes you can make to help in your quest to beating these addictions along with motivational quotes for weight loss. I will share some of my favorite fat loss tricks and tips with you.

1. Drink more water! The hunger and thirst center of the brain will give a hunger signal if you are becoming dehydrated. If you aren’t drinking enough water you may be mistaking hunger for thirst. DRINK HALF OF YOUR BODYWEIGHT IN OUNCES PER DAY… (Example) A 200 lb. person should drink 100 ounces of water per day.

2. Learn to use chopsticks and break them out at EVERY meal! This will make you eat slower and the brain will get the message that you have had enough food more quickly.

3. Eat at regular intervals. 5-6 small meals per day will help keep blood sugar normal and reduce hunger that leads to overeating.

4. Eat like a thin person. Look at the BMR Chart and see how many calories a person of your goal weight would eat per day…then eat only that amount.

5. Try on your “skinny clothes” once per week. You know you have them…The clothes you “hope to fit into” one day…Pick one outfit per week and put it on…Then try the same one on the following week. This exercise is a better measuring stick than using a scale because as you change your diet and exercise regimen you will gain muscle. Muscle is more dense than fat so the scale might not make a big change…but the skinny clothes test will give you a better idea on where you stand with your FAT loss goals.

6. Read the motivational quotes for weight loss below on a very regular basis to keep you mentally sharp.

Weight Loss Motivational Quotes

"Love yourself the way you are right now." It doesn't matter where you are right now. If you only love yourself when you are perfect you will never love yourself... so start now. When you love yourself you make choices that will honor and preserve your health. So start now and watch how your health improves!

"Enjoy the process of reaching your health goals." Start with small goals that can be reached easily, perhaps each week. This will give you motivation to take the next step...those small steps will add up quickly.

"All of the choices you have made since the time you were able to chose and make decisions have led you to where you are right now with your health." Choose now to form habits that will move you to your health goals. A new action started today will be a habit in 21 days. It will then be hard to change that good habit back into a bad one.

"It takes courage to begin a life of health in this world." You will always be going against the flow when you are trying to install healthy habits. Most people you know are not going to be supportive as it goes against their programmed habits. I recently saw a quote in my gym that said "Being healthy is a revolutionary act!" Be strong and know that it is best for you and all of those who count on you to be healthy!

"Eat to live not live to eat!"

"Early to bed, early to rise, eat healthy and exercise!"

"If being healthy were easy everyone would be doing it!" Remember that going with the flow is how you got you where you are and paddling upstream a little each day will make you stronger before you know it!
