Eye of the Tigerby Survivor
This is one of my all time favorite motivational songs ever! Eye of the Tiger was a billboard hit after appearing in the movie Rocky 3. This is a great collection of clips from the movie that really brings back some great memories for me. How Rocky came about in the first place is quite a story. Stallone was a starving artist actor in California playing small parts and living out of his car part of the time. He wrote Rocky and gave the script to someone on the set of a movie. After reading it they offered him $25,000 for the script. He accepted the offer but on one condition...that he would be the star. The movie company refused his request but offered him more money; eventually reaching an offer of 360,000 for the script and letting someone else be the star. That was a very large amount of money in the 1970's! Stallone refused. He knew that this movie could launch his career and make a name for himself. So the movie company came back with one final offer. They offered him zero for the script but allowed him to play the part of Rocky Balboa, and the rest is history. What a great example of holding on to your dreams no matter what. If you haven't checked out the last Rocky movie, Rocky Balboa, be sure to see it. If you are a fan of the old movies, this is not one to miss!
Risin' up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive So many times, it happens too fast You change your passion for glory Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must fight just to keep them alive Chorus: It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger Face to face, out in the heat Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry They stack the odds 'til we take to the street For we kill with the skill to survive chorus Risin' up, straight to the top Have the guts, got the glory Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop Just a man and his will to survive chorus The eye of the tiger...
