"The grass is always greener...where you water it!" -Cornell Lewis

This is a great spin on an old quote by a good friend and patient of mine. Cornell and I were talking the other day and he used this quote. Needles to say I instantly wanted to share it with all of you.

No doubt you have heard the quote "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." Well the truth is that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence if that is where your attention is going.

The lesson is that where you focus your attention is where your life will grow. Like water feeds the grass, your energy and attention is required to see growth in any aspect of your life...relationships, career, education, ect.

Where you don't give attention is where the weeds will overtake the landscape, and it will always look better over the fence.

Think of your mind as a garden, with many different plants that represent different parts of your life. Start today by setting your priorities and where you will focus your energy and attention. Write down those priorities and keep the list with you to promote regular attention to them. Then watch those parts of your life take on new growth.

Remember, a focused mind will give you a green thumb in the garden of life.
