“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it." -William Arthur Ward

It is said that one of the highest forms of thought is the expression of gratitude.

Putting your mind upon what you are thankful for brings more of those things into your life.

Keeping your mind upon those things with all of the challenges the world brings can be difficult.

In the past people would keep a rock in their home called a worry stone. This was to soothe them in times of worry. Of course this would keep their focus on what they worried about instead of what they were thankful for in life.

A few years ago there was a movie called "The Secret" that took the worry stone and changed it into something beautiful.

It described a ritual to keep a stone with you during the day called a "gratitude rock."

When you put your hand in your pocket you would recognize the rock and use it as a reminder to give thanks for all the blessings in your life.

Even if you only touched the rock twice per day to put it in and then take it out of your pocket, that was two times per day you would pause and give thanks.

When you give thanks you will always receive blessings.

This might be an exercise you would like to try for a few days, just to remind you to give yourself the gift of gratitude on a regular basis.

Instead of keeping it under wraps.
