I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! Please enjoy today's quote and welcome to the second half of 2011!

"Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." -Jim Ryun

One reason that it is so hard to create real change in a persons life is that a behavior must be changed for a long enough period of time to create a new habit.

Motivation to create change is only the beginning of the process. If that motivation is strong enough, and enough time is given, the chances for lasting change are good.

One month is a good standard of the time involved to create a new habit.

If you want to eat better, get on a new workout schedule, read for an hour each day, or any positive change you want in your life, just think in terms of doing it every day for a month.

It then becomes a habit. And a habit, good or bad, is hard to break.
