“A real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken a new action, cutting yourself away from the possibility of returning to the way things were. If there's no action, you haven't truly decided." -Anthony Robbins

The decision to make a change in your life is no small thing. With change brings the unknown, and many people are willing to settle for where they are in life because of their fear of the unknown.

When they begin to feel any resistance they retreat back to their old position, and their old habits. Much like when you put your foot in to test the water before enjoying a swim...If the water is a bit cold at first, you may retreat.

But if you give it a minute to adjust to the temperature of the water, you get the benefit of a great day at the beach.

Speaking of water...The Vikings used to sail the oceans to find new places to conquer. When they reached their destination they would actually burn their ships so that their could be no retreat. They would have to conquer the land and build new boats to return to their homeland. Talk about a big decision!

Maybe a bit extreme...But when you really decide to change, you need to remove the possibility of going back to your old habit patterns and adapt to the new.

So decide what you want to change in your life, and take the first action step towards where you want to be. Come on in, the water is fine.
